New year’s are often a time for reflection and reassessment.  For new resolutions and renewed vigour in the pursuit of our dreams.

It is sometimes difficult to really consider what we want and desire on a much more long term and idealistic basis though when we are mired in the melee of work, studies, personal relationships and the pressures of time.

All we often consider is the immediate and the real, when in fact it is often necessary to consider the wider context and the abstract.  Consideration of the abstract can often better help our understanding and view of the immediate, in other words, taking a step back and looking from the outside in.

Just take 4 minutes to listen to the words of Alan Watts.  Thought-provoking, scary but ultimately optimistic.
